He used to live away from himself. He hid in books, television, and everything else this modern society has ever dreamt of. Always in company of others, because he was afraid of living with himself. One day he got all his courage and opened his eyes, and it was not as painful as he thought it would be. He did not care for books or television anymore, he knew that he himself was enough. What he saw when he opened his eyes was something he never thought was possible. He saw suffering, more than he could imagine, but he also saw that those who suffered were no different than him, and that they, too, could end their own suffering if they wanted.

Flute Fiasco

This goes to no one in general, I guess I just wanted to write about it, and I decided to post it here because I just watched Julie and Julia, the movie, and well, I don't know, Julie's blogging made me want to do it... I, like many other people on earth, play the flute. In Costa Rica, there are only two good places to learn the trade: the University of Costa Rica (UCR) or the symphony (not actually a symphony, but more like a music school called that, probably because its headquarters are where the National Symphony rehearses).
